bittersweet goodbyes and unexpected hellos {a rant of sorts}

DOMM Class of 2014-15

^^eh i tried *shrugs*^^
saying goodbye has never been something i'm good at,

and change has never been something i enjoyed.

friendship *magical hand gestures*

today was my last day of school--

and my last day at my middle school.

i cried.

saying goodbye was tough.

i won't miss the students, believe me.

most of them are pricks that i'd happily shove in a closet and forget about
(like how most of the things i own end up)

but i will miss my teachers.

and knowing where i'm going.

and the memories that took place there.

i'm not an emotional person by any means, i'm really not.

but today was hard.

i teared up too many times to count.

overall, i was just really sad today--yeah, it was one of those days.

i got two awards though, which was nice i guess.

but then, in the middle of my emotional roller coaster ride, something unexpected happened...

~

after saying goodbye so many times, i got a text from my mom about something that'll be coming home in a few weeks.

another vinyl lass will be joining the DOMM crew.
yes i know i just bought indie.
but my mom actually got an order through for the jill's steals and deals today.

so now i've got a cutie on the way.

a day full of farewells was concluded with a hello.

who would've thought, huh?

  1. I remember feeling that way when I was going through those transitions at school (it's even worse when you are done with college!). Perfectly normal, but just remember that life gets better and better and there are so many exciting things and adventures to come. Congrats on your new doll! I was also able to grab one from that amazing Jill's Steals and Deals (and they must've restocked as there are still more if you go back and look!). Can't wait to see who you got. I got the light brown hair, brown eyed classic mold. She had been on my wish list and it's so great to get them on sale like that!

    1. Oh, I bet. Thanks! That's great, it took my mom two hours to get on the site--was it as bad for you? I ended up getting #61. :) ahh, yeah, she's a cutie. I love the fact that the doll you got typically has stunning face paint. ^_^

    2. 61 was very tempting! She's a cutie for sure. I actually couldn't get through in the morning at all is I gave up. Then around 6pm I saw someone on IG post that they just got one so I rechecked the site and got right through! They must sell out and then restock throughout the day. Crazy!

    3. yeah, i've been tossing around the idea of purchasing her for a while now, and so when i had the opportunity to i made sure to go for it. ;) yeah, i noticed that too--my grandma actually took advantage later in the day (actually around 11 pm) and bought a doll for my younger cousin. at that time, though, everything, including the furniture and such, except for #25 was sold out.
yeah, i was very surprised to see all the things still available later in the day! when i checked, everything except for #61 and #26 was in stock.

  2. Some teachers you just want to cart around with you wherever you go so you can have a constant supply of inspiration, guidance, and snarky comments. I am going to miss my math teacher. I felt like I could actually ask her questions. This was also the first year that math hasn't made me cry. I will miss my tech teacher because she let me write whatever silly stuff I wanted. I once made a presentation on the Internet Demons eating people's livers. But I got to have her for 2 years, so that's less painful to leave.
The great news is that my absolute favorite teacher will be coming up to the high school with us. He'll be in the library doing something... that isn't librarianing. IDK. There are several kids who say they will never leave the library now.
Oh boy! another dolly for you to take pretty pictures of! I am happy for you. Now there's twice the happiness between us. Happy happy happy happy happy..... XD

    1. Right? I'm gonna miss (well, I already do miss) my seventh grade homeroom teacher. It was hard enough going through eighth grade without seeing him everyday, not seeing him at all? I'm gonna be a wreck. xD
That's awesome! I wish one of my teachers would move up with us.
      Haha, yep! Thanks. ;)

  3. *sighs* I can relate.
The school year just finished for me and over this year for the first time I got really close with my teachers and even a couple of my classmates, which is rare for me. I've never been able to hold a conversation with a teacher longer than them explaining a math problem to me or something, and I was always too scared to approach the other students, so forget that, so it was really cool to be able to actually talk with people for once. We're all bonded by our hate of schoolwork anyway, so why not? xD I complained a lot about my projects and everything of course, but this year was different for me, and as quickly as it started, it was over. It's sorta an end of a chapter for me too, just like how you're finishing middle school, and I ended up getting really emotional about it all. I had a really great year though, the best yet, and I guess that's all that matters.
sorry for the rambling in your comments section, I wasn't prepared for that emotional roller coaster. xD
CONGRATS ON FINISHING MIDDLE SCHOOL THOUGH HIGH FIVE THAT IS GREAT. GOOD LUCK IN HIGH SCHOOL.
Also, those pictures are so cute I'm dead and the yearbook formatted pic you did is freaking adorable that is so awesome i can't.
    LOVELY POST AS ALWAYS <3

    1. I bet.
Yeah, I've never really been one that's able to talk to teachers for more than a few seconds while asking a question, but there was this one teacher (my seventh grade homeroom teacher) that was actually like a friend to me. I'm glad to hear you had a great year. ^_^
No no no I love when people say a lot in their comments. xD
THANKS KELS *high fives you back*
Aw, thanks. Sorry to kill you tho.
      THANK YOU. ♥

  4. MADDIE DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT. I seriously thought you were leaving!! But on a more serious note, leaving a school can be really hard. There are a lot of amazing teachers out there who really care. (unlike the kids) When I left a school... it was bittersweet. Sometimes people should be able to take their favorite teacher on to their next school. Good luck in high school. I send you all of my luck that isn't really there. Can't wait to see your new vinyl lass!

  6. NOES AT FIRST I THOUGHT YOU WERE SAYING GOODBYE
    LIKE, FOREVER
    AND I CRIED
    WAY TOO MUCH
    I'M STILL CRYING
I'm sorry about school ending...When I stopped going to public school we had a graduation for everyone in my grade, and I cried the whole way through. *bursts into tears again*
Congrats on the doll. I freaked out because #55 was on sale, but I only have $20. And money's really tight right now. Too tight. So we couldn't get her....I cried all day yesterday also.
    Which doll did you get?

Also I need a link to your blog as soon as it's started.
I would love to read it.

  8. DON'T DO THAT TO ME MADDIE!
I swear you just gave me a mini heart attack, I THOUGHT YOU WERE LEAVING. You're not, thank goodness.
It's quite hard saying goodbye to people you've known for years. When I moved up to my new school, I didn't really find it too hard, because most of the students and all the teachers were pricks and I was happy to leave them, to be honest.
    Congrats on your new doll!

It really is, I didn't realize how hard it is until I had to do it. Yeah, I feel that way about some teachers and all the students (save my friends, of course), but unfortunately most of them will be coming to hs with me.
      Thanks!

  9. To be honest, I don't miss it. It's only been one day, I know. But it honestly feels more normal to me to sit in my room playing guitar all day than it ever did going to school from 7-2:30 every day.
    Is that weird?
Either way, I'll miss that lunch table and always freaking out when that stupid lady never cleaned it. I'll miss going to the band room almost every morning and almost getting hit with instruments everyday. I'll miss standing back and laughing my ass off as the Maddie Fan Club attacked.
I won't miss our lovely chorus. I won't miss all the annoying kids who used our staircase when we weren't allowed to use theirs. I won't miss History Day. And I won't miss always having a dang bottom locker when I'm taller than the entire school's population.
And now I'm ranting. Lol, sorry! Don't worry though. In a few short weeks we'll be getting into the school routine again and won't even be thinking about everything we just left behind.

    1. ahh, well, i don't miss a lot of it, though i do miss seeing you guys every day. ;) i feel the same way about spending hours with my girls working on sewing stuff--feels more normal.
      nah, it isn't weird.
me too. ahh, yeah, i'm really gonna miss our band room adventures. ;) *sigh* aw, the maddie fan club!! i almost forgot about that! i'll never forget about the zipper incident though. xD
oh god me neither--chorus is something i won't ever miss. -_- ugh those kids were a pain. "if i had a stick..." will never die though!
ranting is cool, mate, ranting is cool. yep--well, i'll always miss mr.s but yanno.

  10. I thought you were leaving and I was like ANOTHER ONE!!!??? xD To many people are leaving the doll blogging world. :-/
It will be kind of strange being in middle school, lol. However, it won't feel that different...since I'm homeschooled and all.

Saying goodbye is hard. I know. My last day of school was yesterday, and one of my great friends was switching schools. My whole class was in tears. :( But moving on is just part of life, and we all have to learn how to say goodbye. I'm sure high school will be fabulous, and until then, happy summer!

  16. Yeah, this is my last year at my school. I've been there FOREVER! (not really, I've been there since I was four) But, I'll start a new year at my new elementary school (I'll start 5th grade) and no one will know about my really silly mistakes, like the time I went to another class's bathroom, and got dizzy and sat in another person's seat in a totally different class. LOL! XD
