{kids in the dark}

they left us alone,
the kids in the dark.
to burn out forever,
or light up a spark.
we come together,
state of the art.
we'll never surrender,
the kids in the dark,
so let the world sing—
"what a shame,
what a shame,
beautiful scars on
critical veins."
come together,
state of the art.
we'll never surrender,
the kids in the dark.

the kids in the dark.

scheduled the day after a post to make it feel more...real. ;)

i'm in the mood to hear your thoughts, so in a comment, tell me one thing you like about my blog and one thing you dislike/think i could improve upon. be honest. :} just don't say things like "i don't like the way you talk on here" because i'm not changing myself for you, but i will happily change my posting schedule to mold into what you guys would like. :3

see ya in a few days. :)

  1. Firstly, *applauds this post*.
    Secondly, a thing I like about your blog is how your posts are always so thought-provoking. They leave the reader with something to think about, which is something I admire and enjoy.
    A thing I'm not so fond of is how you often seem to have only one picture per post. Sometimes that is great because it makes the perfect impact, but sometimes I'm left wanting a little more and it'd be nice to have at least a couple more, like this post here. (Although if you only have one picture to create a certain effect I understand.)

    1. 1.) thank you. :}
      2.) yeah, i know it gets kind of annoying with only one photo per post. i personally like posts with more photos, too. ;) lately i've just only had the time and energy to take one or two photos per post. but you can definitely expect more as soon as i have the time!

  2. First off, amazing pictures! I can definitely say that your photography is my favorite thing about your blog. Hmm... I would like more pics per post... though sometimes just 1 or 2 is great! I would love some more posts with in-color pictures, too!

      2.) will-do, the next few posts (the scheduled ones) are all pretty dull regarding colors, but as soon as band camp is over and all the scheduled posts are up, i'll have some more colorful shoots coming your way. also, i usually post more colorful photos on seven bloggers and their dolls, so you can check out my posts there if you want to see some. ;)

  4. I loved the lyrics so much that I'm listening to that song right now. ;)

    One thing I like about your blog is your amazing photography skills. I would like to have them, if you don't mind.

    Kids In The Dark is a good song....I might have to buy it on iTunes sometime.

    Something you should improve on is that you should post more than one picture in one post, because I like to see more of your pictures since they're so beautiful. I would also say you should post more often, but I know you don't always have time, so you can just pretend I didn't write this part of you want.

    Also, I'm new to the doll blogging world (even though I've been reading and loving your posts and other bloggers' posts for a year) and I've only ever commented on a few blogs....sorry this is so long. I hope you don't mind!

    1. 1.) ahh yes, it's a wonderful song. i just bought a physical copy of future hearts tonight and can't seem to stop listening to it—definitely recommend you buy it.
      2.) thank you, annie!
      3.) that seems to be a common theme here so i will for sure be including more photos once i have time after this week. :} and i will try my best to get a post up every other day, if that sounds good to you. ;)
      4.) 'course i don't mind! welcome to the comm, mate. :3

  5. Beautiful pictures maddie :) Ok so I love a lot about your blog, (Like everything!) I'll list a few.
    I like how you post just the perfect amount, not too much so me feed is full of MADDIE! But not too infrequent that I forget your blog exists. Now I know that people don't have time to blog super frequent and I don't mind that people only post once a week or once a month. But I like your posting schedule :) Secondly I love how your pictures say so much in just a small image. You have a gift of capturing that (Whatever it may be) and putting it into a beautiful images using some awesome ag dolls :)
    Now what you could work on.. Well I personally really want to know how to make some of the outfits/garments that you have made for your dolls. Like some tutorials or tips or whatever :) But if you don't to share your secret to your great sewingness don't feel you have too :-) Yeah.. I didn't go back and check this comment so sorry if it doesn't make sense >.<

    1. 1.) thank you, i'm so glad you like my posting schedule! i try to make it just that, so your feed isn't overwhelmed with maddie, but there also aren't huge gaps between my posts, so i'm very happy you think that. :3 aww, thank you! that's another thing I try to accomplish, so again, i'm so very happy to hear that you think so.
      2.) of course! the only reason sewing tutorials aren't that plentiful (and never really haven been) is because they usually take about a day all together to set up, take the pictures for, and then write. not to mention I usually make a new pattern somewhere in there. but i will for sure try to make some more tutorials here! there's one on how to make a skater dress that i posted last week on my youtube channel, if you want to see that. :)

  6. MADDIE THIS IS INCREDIBLE
    One thing I really love about your blog is how you always have such inspiring posts, and they really make you think.
    I think you should do more photoshoots with your other dolls (Felicity, Kanani, Julie, Chrissa, etc.)
    Other than that, your blog is basically perfect. >-<

      3.) gotcha, so basically like, everyone but emery and ali? xD no but really, i'll be sure to use some of the other girls more often (i've been trying to branch out regarding who i use in shoots lately but i seem to be pretty bad at that lmao). :}

  7. Wow, those are such powerful photos and words, I love them. <3
    I love that you are so unique and different, and never change that.
    And I agree with Ella, take photos of different dolls instead of Emery and Ali! xD

  8. Bwha too perfect for words!! <3
    I love how deep and thoughtful your posts are - they always make me think. I also love how you aren't afraid to be who you are.
    Yeah, more photos per post would be great. I mean, I probably shouldn't be talking, considering that I rarely post. xD But if you had to improve on one thing, add more pictures. :)

  9. I didn't even think about you need to improve on using other dolls when I commented the other night. But I think you should use Lanie, Kanani, Felicity, Indie, Scarlette, and Jade more often. Also Archer, but you seem to be using her a lot lately.
